EPICUR Triple Master’s

Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the University of Strasbourg, and the University of Southern Denmark have signed an agreement in Strasbourg establishing a triple degree programme – the EPICUR Master’s in European Geopolitics, International Security and Law. As part of the two-year programme, students will study consecutively in Poznań, Odense, and Strasbourg, and upon completion will receive diplomas from each of the three partner universities.
The EPICUR Master’s in European Geopolitics, International Security and Law programme was developed by the Faculty of Law and Administration at Adam Mickiewicz University in cooperation with the University of Southern Denmark and the University of Strasbourg, including Sciences Po Strasbourg. It represents a step towards the most advanced models of higher education within the European Union. The programme offers not only mobility between universities, but also access to three master’s degree curricula, along with their distinct teaching methods and professional perspectives. Reaching an agreement at this level was made possible through academic cooperation within the EPICUR alliance.
“This agreement marks the beginning of one of the most ambitious European educational pathways, in which partners combine three degree programmes into one coherent curriculum leading to three diplomas. It is an investment in graduates prepared to work in international environments, including organisations, public institutions, and academia,” said Dr Martyna Kusak, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration at Adam Mickiewicz University, who coordinated the process on behalf of the University from the outset.
The EPICUR Master’s in European Geopolitics, International Security and Law aligns with the European Union’s vision for the development of higher education, where increasing emphasis is placed on integrated study programmes, academic mobility, and degrees recognised beyond a single national system. It also constitutes an important step towards the creation of a European Degree Label — an initiative aimed at fostering closer cooperation between universities in designing and delivering study programmes with a genuinely European dimension.
The programme is intended for students interested in European and international law, security, geopolitics, and international cooperation. It will be linked to the new English-language second-cycle degree programme European and International Law, which the Faculty of Law and Administration at Adam Mickiewicz University will launch in the 2026/2027 academic year. Candidates interested in participating in the programme will indicate this pathway already at the stage of applying for the second-cycle degree and will undergo an extended selection procedure.
Each partner university will nominate five students annually from among those enrolled in master’s programmes associated with the initiative, creating a cohort of fifteen students undertaking the programme within this European educational pathway. Upon graduation and successful defence of their thesis, graduates of the EPICUR Master’s in European Geopolitics, International Security and Law will receive three master’s degrees: from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the University of Southern Denmark, and the University of Strasbourg.
The signing ceremony took place on 26 May 2026 in Strasbourg and was attended by representatives of the partner universities’ authorities. Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań was represented by Professor Bogumiła Kaniewska, Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań; Professor Tomasz Nieborak, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration; and Dr Martyna Kusak, Vice-Dean for Research and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Law and Administration.
