“Media and various forms of memory wars” seminar

[INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SEMINAR RECAP]
From April 23 to 26, students from across the EPICUR Alliance gathered in Poznań for the 4th edition of the international seminar, wrapping up the course Media and Various Forms of Memory Wars.

Hosted by Adam Mickiewicz University, the event featured inspiring panels led by Professors Wiktor Werner and Andreas Böhn on topics like:

• Historical memory in pop culture
• Politics of remembrance
• Commemoration in times of conflict

Students showcased individual and group research projects, merging their academic perspectives and cultural backgrounds in an interdisciplinary, international exchange.

Special guest: Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Rafał Witkowski, who supports our mission of academic dialogue without borders.

Beyond academia, students:

• explored Polish culture and cuisine
• visited local museums
• were amazed by Józef Chełmoński’s art exhibit
• and yes, enjoyed lots of delicious pierogi! 🥟
