KIT – AMU VISIT

On 22-23 September 2021, a delegation of staff from Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, consisting of Professor Michael Schefczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Andreas Böhn, Annegret Scheibe, Marie-Claire Haag, and Natascha Hemlein, was hosted at AMU. As of 2019. AMU and KIT have a fruitful cooperation within the EPICUR European University Initiative, and the current visit was related to the preparation of further joint research projects combining humanities and digital technologies.Currently, a grant within the Erasmus Strategic Partnership program (EPIDI) is being implemented, as well as NCN Opus 20 grant (with the Faculty of History), another grant with other partners (CHANSE-262) is awaiting evaluation (the Faculty of Anthropology and Cultural Studies coordinates AMU’s participation). The KIT delegation was particularly interested in the Liberal Arts and Sciences degree program which will be launched at KIT starting from the new academic year, but there are many more potential areas of cooperation between AMU and KIT. One of the reasons for such a successful collaboration is the fact that Dean Michael Schefczyk always responds with a smile to the remark that he is “one of us” at KIT…
